Michelle offers Therapeutic Yoga to individuals who are battling illness, disease, chronic pain, or limited mobility. Therapeutic Yoga blends restorative yoga (supported postures), gentle yoga, adaptive yoga, breathwork, and guided meditation techniques to help bring balance to the body and to promote healing. Private sessions can be done in your home, medical facility, or in Michelle's home Yoga Therapy studio located in South Minneapolis.
Michelle has experience working with clients dealing with cancer, stroke, MS, Parkinson's, Fibromyalgia, chronic pain, immune disorders, and limited mobility including spinal cord and brain injury. Her own individual battle with cancer and immune disorders allows her to come from a place of understanding and compassion when dealing with individuals who are at the various stages of illness, imbalance, and disease.
Michelle's experience in working with those living with limited mobility comes from working directly with those living with spinal cord injury and brain injury as well as the geriatric population. She is an assistant yoga instructor at the Courage Center working along side local author and Iyengar Yoga Instructor, Matthew Sanford, teaching yoga to those living with disability.
Therapeutic Yoga is different from Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy in that Michelle will be guiding you through movement specifically geared for your condition. In Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy there is more space allowed for exploring and expressing your thoughts, emotions, and how they relate to your body and your daily life.
